How do I put a sidebar next to two rows of modules...

Posted 12 years 4 months ago
    • Hi all,

I am attempting to create a layout with four modules (A, B, C, and D) These four modules will be split onto two rows (positions). Finally I need a sidebar (S) running along the right side of both these rows.

      In essence I need:

      A | B |S
      C | D |S continued

Gantry seems to have a sidebar that only sits next to the Main Body area. I am looking to have a sidebar next to two different positions.

      Any thoughts?

      Thanks!

    • Is this just on the home page or throughout the site?

    • Go into your master template and go into advance and turn on "Main Body Enabled". This will hide the main content area and sidebars on the homepage. Now you can put your modules in any of the module positions template and any configuration you wish.

    • I think there's been a small misunderstanding. I'm not looking to remove the sidebar from the homepage.

I need to have a sidebar appear to the right of two module positions (not the main content area).

      |
      | A | B | |
      | Sidebar |
      | C | D | |
      |

(Sorry for the crudity of the drawing.)

    • Then turn the "display component" OFF. This will hide the content area but keep the sidebars.

    • Houston,

Thanks for your help. I did not realize (because of the layout options in the template section) that there were any 'Content-Top' or 'Content-Bottom' sections. I also thought, because of this, that the positions noted in the top of the forum were out of date.

While I know the answer now I am wondering if, within the template layout section, there should be some mention of these two sections to help others in the future.

      Thanks again!
