Modules not formatting on ipad size screen

  • Modules not formatting on ipad size screen

    • - My website URL is: www.horseteacher.com/club
      - My Joomla version number is J-2.5
      - My Rockettheme template version number is: metropolis

      My issue is:

When I go to preview my modules on an ipad size screen, some modules do not seem to respond properly.

Is there a way to get a a module that contains a module to load properly? The only ones that seem to work are the ones with text or photos only. Not ones with with a video or slideshow module. The home page top right and left modules are 2 examples.

      Site Reference: www.horseteacher.com/club

      Thank you

    • Hi there,

Any module that contains or calculates a fixed width/height will not be responsive.

Your module at top right has a predetermined width of 250px - this means it will always display at that width regardless of viewport size of the device.

The same applies to the slideshow at top left.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Thank you for the reply.
What options do I have to try to retain some of these functions of a slideshow and a scroller and still enable the responsive ability?

    • Hi there,

Try checking this link - demo.rockettheme.com/joomla/leviathan/features

Although it is for Leviathan the Gantry template also uses the visible/hidden options. This means you can have two modules with same content but sized differently and then use the module suffix to display the correct module for the correct viewport on the device being used.

    • That should help get me out of this bind. Thank you.

In regards to Leviathan template. Is there a way to put the Leviathan main menu design onto the Metropolis Template?

And if I wanted to switch over to a template like Leviathan, is it an involved process, or just switch templates on the back end in the template manager?

      Thanks again.

    • Hi there,

Switching to any of the templates is as simple as just installing it and then selecting the template as default in the template admin.

As for swapping menu styles that would be a suck it and see operation as you would need to identify all the code from Leviathan menu elements and implement it in Metropolis. That amount of customisation goes beyond our normal levels of support.

    • These answers have really helped! Thank you.

      In regards to the responsiveness...

On my home page at horseteacher.com/club
I have 4 FP tabs modules at the bottom of the page. When viewed on the iphone, I only see 1. And it does not seem to be clickable (selectable) when on the iphone? Wondering what the options are here. Am I missing a setting, or do I need to 'hide' those modules and create just links for those on an iphone?

      Thanks.
