Gantry Database connection error (2): Could not connect to

Posted 12 years 3 months ago
    • I moved my site manually the other day and everything on the front-end works great. The backend is working fine except for the template. When I go into the template Leviathan Joomla 2.5 and click save I get this error: Gantry Database connection error (2): Could not connect to MySQL. The configuration.php has the correct DB info otherwise the site would not come up at all. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks
      Mark

    • Hi there,

Have you cleared all Joomla and browser caches?

I checked my Leviathan install database and cannot see any paths etc in the templates table.

Since Joomla 2.5 I have avoided manual moves as I never know how much data has been added into the DB. I use Akeeba to take a backup and then use the kickstart to load the site. This takes care of all paths and I rarely get a problem with moves/transfers.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Hello AVASA! I just had this same problem yesterday when I uploaded my 3rd site to my hosting account. I sent my host a trouble ticket and they realized I used the same username for all 3 databases and I apparently changed my password when installing the last site which then changed the password (and access I'm guessing) to those databases. So as I was sleeping last night, they renamed my databases (just adding incrementing numbers behind my initial username, i.e., name1, name2, name3) and now my sites are available online.

I'm sure you can use the same username...just ensure you use the exact password.

      I hope this helps...

    • Hi,
Thanks David, clearing Joomla's cache was the issue. I also agree with using Akeeba and normally always do except this time it was having an issue with kickstarting it on all backup copies.
