Mainbody positions ignored after upgrade to 4.1.10?

We've been on 3.2.12 for a while and everything has been working as it should.
Now, after an upgrade to the Gantry framework to 4.1.10, the mainbody positions have a different behaviour than before. The override are working as expected. It's just the default style that seems off.
Default style setup in admin: sa4-mb8-sb4
Sidebar-a has a module
Sidebar-b has a module
Pages/menus that are not assigned an override are being displayed as mb8-sa4-sb4 instead.
It doesn't matter what combination of sa-mb-sb I set, it always is presented as mb8-sa4-sb4.
Any ideas how I can start to debug this?
