Undefined offset in positions.php

    • I edited the gantry index file to add new row of module positions. I followed the tutorial about that. I'm using a Diametric template but I wanted to make use of the gantry template too and that's why I added a row of positions to match Diametric.

I now see this error when in the Template Manager/ Gantry - Default template to make choices:
Undefined offset: 6 in /public_html/libraries/gantry/admin/forms/fields/positions.php on line 162.
I looked at that but I don't see what it is referring to.

Other problem is the Header Positions. It comes set as 3 by default. I'm using two positions filling the whole row and my selection won't stay saved. I tried setting to 2 and adjusted the slider to suit my needs and turned on Force Positions and set count to 2. This will stay saved but I'm still shown three modules on the page even after refreshing, one is duplicated at a smaller size. Cache is turned off. All software is current.

      Thanks,
      Rob

    • hi there,

please feel free to post your site link and super admin details into the 'secure' tab of the reply screen. then our team can take a closer look at your site.

regarding the 3 positions showing, it totally does not matter at all which number of positions is showing by default. it does not save 1,2,3,4 or whatever number of positions. what the sliders only save is when you change the distribution within a certain number of positions, for example if you change 3 positions from 4/4/4 to 2/2/8 or something, that change will need to get saved.

      thanks, kat :)

    • hi again,

      thank you for the details.

when i go to > extensions > manage and search for gantry, i see that gantry itself is outdated - 4.1.8. can you update that?
maybe the line number of the error will then change, so i can better double check things against my own gantry 4.1.24 install.

      kat :)

    • Hi Kat,

Program note for you: I wasn't told that updates are needed because the gantry version is 4.1.8. Isn't 4.1.8 a higher number than 4.1.24, therefore not triggering the auto update process? I saw the version date goes to last year so that version should have been numbered something like 4.1.08, then I would have gotten the automatic message that my gantry needed updating. So to force an update I went to the gantry site and downloaded the framework and installed it.

      I still get this:
Notice: Undefined offset: 6 in /home/werking/public_html/libraries/gantry/admin/forms/fields/positions.php on line 162

      Thanks,
      Rob

    • hi again,

      apologies for the late response.

4.1.8 is older than 4.1.24, just like joomla 2.5.8 for example is older than joomla 2.5.20.

i am not sure why you did not get a notification for the update. you might try to download rokupdatesclean from here:
www.rockettheme.com/joomla/extensions/rokutilities just install it through the extensions manager.

i will check with the other moderators to see if they have a solution, i could not find anything wrong with your change, so obviously i am overlooking something. :)
