Different overrides of the same template for parent and child menu items.

Hi,
under Joomla 3.4.1 we are using Osmosis v1.4 template, Gantry v4.1.27
We have created a menu, with a parent item and a child item and assign different template overrides:
Parent Item: Osmosis Override1
| Child Item: Osmosis Override2
The problem we have is child item is also using Override1 instead of Override2.
If we assign beez3 template to the child item it is going well, so the problem seems to be part of the Osmosis template or the Gantry system.
Is it possible to have different overrides of the same Osmosis template for parent items and child items?
Is it possible to avoid this changing any parameter of the themplate or menu?
