Thumbnail size override

Hi,
Right now I am using the latest Gantry and I would like to override thumbnail sizes per category or per page.
let's say i have 3 overrides for 3 different categories but i noticed the thumbnail option can't be tick or change for me to have different sizes for 3 different overrides.
is there a way or code/s (cuz im not really a coder) for me to insert on gantry's gizmo thumbnail.php that would let me do this.
help is greatly appreciated.
PS: I want to use timthumb instead of the default WP featured image. anyhow both doesn't work for me so i just want to have an override option.
