Widgets under each other - overrides

My understanding is that to have two widgets next to each other, they need to be separated by a 'gantry divider widget'.
The problem is that I'm trying to have two widgets next to each other, through the override allocation of widgets. I try to drag the gantry divider to correct place, but it isn't allowed to drop in.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

- In overrides, you must first tick the checkbox beside the name of the position, to let Gantry know that you want to override the widgets in that position, and then Gantry allows you to add widgets in there.

- It is ticked and I already have the two widgets in there. The problem is that the divider widget doesn't want to go in there as well.
