    Gantry Style Reset

Posted 11 years 10 months ago
    • Looking for a preset minimal style for gantry. No box shadows, text indents, menu styling (other than what's needed to make it work). I find that my big time killer when using gantry is removing all of the out-of-the-box styling or using overrides. Any suggestions?

    • Hi,
all of the theme-specific styles are in template.less, style.less, header-[dark/light].less files located in the theme's /less directory. You can simply empty these files and what you'll have is a blank canvas ready for you (see the attached screenshot to see how it looks).
Worth to note that Afterburner2 theme is coming to WordPress soon which has a much simpler and clearer design so you can use that as the base of your design.

Consider using the custom stylesheet for all your CSS customizations: gantry-framework.org/documentation/wordp...custom_stylesheet.md .

    • Thanks. That's pretty clean but there is still text shadowing and a bit of menu styling which is what I was primarily looking to kill. The optimum menu style would be squared blocks of solid colors with a solid color mouseover and highlightling with zero css3 styling (no shadows, insets, border-radius). How soon will afterburner be coming out?

    • Hi,
the menu styles are in the menu.less file, you can easily get rid of those as well.
The dev team is busy with launching the WP plugins section on this site, Afterburner2 is next on the queue. So, really soon! :cheesy: I'm personally waiting for it as well, as it will make building custom designs a breeze.

    • I am working with Gantry 4.1.29 and WISH I could complete remove all Gantry menu styles as requested above.

Just a simple solid bar with solid square mouseovers. No text shadows, no inset shadows, no rounded corners, aboslutely nothing of the kind.

I tried what was suggested about the .less files but there are none, first of all. So I tried deleteing the contents of the compiled menu css files. And I lost all formatting altogether.

Isn't there a simpler way to get a nice, basic menu styling??
