Gantry themes installing but not working

I successfully installed the gantry framework directly from the plugin page in wordpress, but I'm having trouble installing gantry themes. When I installed the generic gantry theme, I got a success message, but when I select "preview" I just get a blank page: the theme doesn't get applied to any of my existing content. Same problem with installing the Stratos theme: I get a success message, but no success. Also, the Stratos plugins file won't install at all. I don't get an error message. The browser just freezes a few seconds after the installation begins, and nothing else happens.

Hi,
Live Preview of Wordpress themes isn't currently working and unfortunately it won't be for the near-future releases of Wordpress.
The reason is that Wordpress isn't initiating the required plugins during the rendering of the Preview Page.
The issues you're facing with the installation of the plugins are probably due to wrong permissions. Could you check if you have right folder permsissions?
Also, you can post your WP and FTP details using the "Secure" tab option so we could take a look.

- Not being able to do a live preview is no big deal. The more important issue is that gantry themes are not applying to my content after I activate them. When I switch to site view, there is nothing to see. As for the plug-ins, I'm installing from the "install plug-in" page in the WP dashboard, using "find file" to upload the zip file from my desktop, so I don't see why permissions should be an issue.

Did you use the RocketLauncher or did you manually installed the theme? Regarding your plugins installation, this could be a permissions issue as your server could be blocking the plugin to be uploaded and extracted.
Could you please post your WP and FTP details so we could take a look? You can do that by hitting Reply and then the "Secure" tab option.

- Dimitris, as I said in my last reply, I'm not using FTP or the rocketlancher. I'm installing from the "install plug-in" page in the WP dashboard, using "find file" to upload the zip file from my desktop. Also, the reason I double-posted was to provide additional information that I didn't have when I posted the original question: the PHP and MYSQL versions, and the results of attempting the installation on a different server.

To install new themes you should go at Appearance/Themes, click Add New at top and then upload. The install plugin page can't be used for themes too.
I've read your other post too but it's easier for us and other members too to have the info related to an issue concentrated in a topic. This way our forum stays more compact.
Also, i will need your WP and FTP details in case you need more help.
