I'm using the paradigm template, which comes with Gantry 4. I have a template override configured to change a "custom-variation" to the widget, however it is not working properly. I know that the overall gantry overrides are working, because on this very same page there are style changes that are part of the template overrides, but the widget is passing the default widget settings. I've confirmed that the overrides are saving by looking at the database, and the override is saving properly, however when the widget loads, it is passed the default settings. I've confirmed the settings it's passing by debugging them in the widget code itself, and I see the default value being passed instead of the overridden value.
Another issue I have is that you can't seem to add a widget in the override that doesn't exist in the default, and you can only override it. I understand the point is that they are overrides, but I find this extremely limiting in terms of having different template types which different widgets and content.
Is it a known issue that widget overrides simply do not work? I'm using the wp-sponsors plugin in this case, however I haven't gotten any widget overrides to work.
Can i see the url, username and password and also what is the override in question and widget in question, thanks
