Unable to force position for sidebars (Tachyon template)

  • Unable to force position for sidebars (Tachyon template)

    • I really need help here, thanks for taking a look.

I am using latest RT Tachyon template for my Jomsocial based site.
I want to publish modules on sidebar c, as soon as I publish on sidebar, it pushes mainbody to left.
I want sidebar c to only take little space. There is no force position option availabe for sidebars.
Do I need to change the width of my template?
If no forcing is available for sidebar what is the option, I want mainbody to stay as wide as possible. I just want to publish only on sides.
i can pm super user credentials if needed.

      Thanks in advance.

    • Hi there,

If you need your mainbody to stay the full width of the template e.g. 960px and then want to add sidebars without affecting that width then you will need to modify your template overall width.

Before you decide to do that you should consider that the most common screensize is 1024 x 768, which is why the 960 grid system works so well overall.

To change widths you can find out more from the post here - www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=46...23591&rb_v=viewtopic

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Hi

I have a Halcyon templete and i need to "Force position" in a MainBody to: 3 positions, 2I8I2

BUT will not to fill the slidebar C, only need the SlidebarA more thinness possible and obviously the MainBody more wide (with out the slidebarC)

Everything works fine with the "column right" SlidebarC have content, but i want the slidebarC empty.

¿How can i "Force Position" of the MainBody to work: 3 positions, 2I8I2 ?

      Sorry for my english

It appears that you are not a RocketTheme member and I guess that is why you have posted in a public forum area rather than the Halcyon forum.

If you are not a member then could you explain how you have a copy of the template? We provide support via our forums - free templates are supported in the public areas and club templates in member areas.

In effect you are asking RocketTheme to help you when you have acquired a template you have not paid for. That doesn't sound like a fair deal to all of our paying members

Some words of advice for you and anybody else who 'finds' a free version of a paid club template. There are sites that 'steal' templates and recode them with some very nasty viruses and trojans. So if you are building a website for yourself, a charity, or even a paying client, then make sure you have suitable insurance just in case things go very wrong as you may end up being sued for damages for introducing the virus or trojan by use of a stolen template.
