Hi Jeanette,
In WordPress you need to use the overrides to display the Rotator widget only on certain pages. Please get to know yourself with these tutorials :

- Layouts & Gantry Divider : demo.rockettheme.com/wordpress/wp_panace...divider-and-layouts/
They will help you to understand the mechanism of overrides, their assignments, and modifying the default layout of the site sections.
