SOLVED* Strange issue with rt-main rt-container using Gantry

    • Hi guys,

I'm racking my brain here after attempting to build a simple theme built on the Gantry framework. This is my third attempt at applying this particular theme - always with the same breaking end result. Something weird seems to be happening inside the rt-container div that sits within the rt-main div...

rt-grid-3 is for some reason being pushed out of the rt-container div. This totally messes up the page layout. This seems to me to be a html generating issue rather than a css one. As even when I delete all custom css this issue remains.

What makes it even stranger is this only seems to be occuring to pages created from new menu items. I set up all the main menu items (expect for the 2011 round-up page) before I started applying my theme then I installed a few modules such as RokStories & Roktwittie and applied some custom css using the mycustomstyle method. I then added a new menu item and this new page seems to ignore the normal structure of the page layout which in turn affects my background styles. I checked it out in Firebug and you can see the page structure is different from the other pages where the rt-grid-3 div sits outside the rt-container!

The offending page in question can be viewed here:
      dev.abertoir.co.uk/index.php/2011-round-up
Go to any other of the menu pages to see how it should be working.

Is there anything anybody can think of why this might be happening? If anyone has the answer it would be greatly appreciated!

One other thing I noticed was when hovering over the divs in Firebug the element on the page normally becomes highlighted right? but on this page only a very small portion becomes highlighted for the rt-container div, almost like it's height is being ignored.

      Please see the attached screengrabs:
This shows the divs not working on the offending page

I'm using all latest platforms : Joomla 2.5.1 and Gantry 3.2.16,
      running PHP 5.2.17
My main body positions are set to 9|3 in the Gantry layout section.
Caches are turned off in both Joomla & Gantry.

    • Hi again,

I solved it. Rather embrassingly it seems that I simply had a random closing </div> tag in my content article! Erm, I'm just getting used to using Rokpad... fantastic tool, I just gotta be more careful!

      :cheesy:
