    • First, make a backup... even if it's screwed up... make a back up. Then we'll remove the Gantry files.

DOWNLOAD that backup file before you proceed with anything. Let me know when you have the download completed.

I cannot delete / uninstall gantry to create a clean install of gantry.
I've attempted to find the files via ftp, myphpadmin and the backend program xtplorer.

All have failed to remove the files shown below.

NOT SOLVED. GAVE UP AND REINSTALLED FROM BACKUP. GANTRY WHEN BROKEN...IS BROKEN.
Because your hoster has you on apache2handler account, after you install Joomla or our RocketLauncher, the files are owned by Apache and NOT Joomla or you.

The resolution to these permission issues are:
      1. Enable the FTP LAYER in Global configuration
      failing that
      2. Get your hoster to put you a CGI / FastCGI account where you can avoid all these ownership issues.

    • Rackspace replied:
Steve J: We recommend not using FTP layer it doesn' t work as well and
Steve J: as far as apache owning the files in our environment the user would own files apache won't own them.
