How to get styling for 'grouped' menu items?

Hi, I'm using gantry, and loving it.. there's just 1 thing holding me back - should there be styling for 'grouped' menu items? It looks a bit of a mess at the moment for me.
What's the best way to get it styled? I'm in fear of messing with the core files too much. WOuld installing roknavmenu help, and come with some preset styles? Thanks for any help.

- I solved this by deleting my website and starting again from fresh. Not sure what went wrong.
