Center Gantry Main Menu

Feel like this is a really silly question but can't find the answer anywhere. How do we center the gantry main menu? I don't want the individual menu items centered. I want the whole menu you center within the div I put it in.
For example #rt-showcase .rt-container .menu-block
I want the menu to center within that div. I tried
{display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;}
but that didn't work. I'm able to margin-left but there's got to be a better to just center the menu within the div.

this is doing the trick for me:#rt-header .menu-block { float:left; width:100%; position:relative; } #rt-header ul.gf-menu { clear:left; float:right; position:relative; right:50%; text-align:center; } #rt-header ul.gf-menu > li { display:block; float:left; position:relative; left:50%; } -

thanks so much, brilliant
for a newby (like me and others) there were a few other steps:
create the custom css file as per
www.gantry-framework.org/documentation/j...custom_stylesheet.md
Paste in Shazdeh's code.
if you have assigned the menu into a different module position.
change "header" in each line to correspond to module position that you are using.
so for me using Plethora and "maintop" position code reads:
#rt-maintop . menu ... etc.
In plethora this brings the menu to below the image, centered beautifully.
