    • I'm getting this error several times a day with a new site I'm building:
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

This specific error message appears in google chrome, other browsers show a blank page or some other variation on this message.

It seems to be random, and is resolved by clearing the cache in the gantry template configuration page.

The server logs reveal nothing, error reporting is set to maximum.

Permissions are set correctly according to Joomla's system info page.

This is the site in question:
      dev2.insideworldfootball.com

      Appreciate any help!

    • Thanks prim, but I'm fairly sure the problem is server-side - it's affecting all browsers, not just Chrome, and our monitoring service ( www.serverdensity.com/ ) reports the website is down.

    • Yes, it's up currently. The problem is intermittent.

    • I'm not sure but it could be a hosting issue. Have you tried contacting your webhost so they can debug this error?

    • Same problem on several sites, oculus template on J3.2.1

Website is mostly up, but sometimes it comes through in google Chrome with an EMPTY RESPONSE.
      Other browsers, blank page.

At first i thought it was an issue with our load balancer, i then used a local VPN IP and modified my hosts file to connect to the webserver directly. Same issue.

After a few minutes the issue is gone and everything works again.

      Anyone any thoughts ?

    • It can be caused by a lot of things; Gateway, firewall, security settings, cache, routing...

If you make a copy of the whole site and then install it on your own computer - does it work then?

    • I am having the same problem.

I installed 2 different rocketheme templates and its the same error.

The frustrating part is there is no way to debug. The only error we can get from logs is
       child died with signal 11

      Nothing more than this.

Again the other templates works fine, so it is something to do with gantry and rockettheme template.

Is there any way at least we can debug or get what is the error ?
