Gantry Template Module Positions

    • Hello,

I have a development site, and have installed the Gantry bundle, and have set the Gantry template as default.

When publishing a module to certain positions (e.g Bottom or MainBottom) the module does not appear on the front-end.

I figured I might have to create Custom Modules and have read the documentation on creating these.

Two "issues" (perhaps questions) I have are (in no particular order):

      1) In your Creating New Modules Position documentation, step 3 says:

Next, open template-options.xml and scroll down to the line which says this:

      < fieldset name= "layouts" label = "LAYOUTS" >

I have downloaded the template-options.xml file and do not see the above - there is no html in this file - have I downloaded the wrong thing ?

      2) Putting aside creating a new module position, when creating a new module (note: I do not mean a new module position - but in the site back-end --> Modules --> new)

When choosing Position - the drop down box appears - the module position(s) I want to use (e.g Bottom a) appear in the list.

I do not understand why it would appear in that list, by default, if I need to add code elsewhere.

When using a different Gantry enabled Template - such as Fresco - I am able to use such a position as "Bottom a" without adding any code elsewhere - is the Gantry default template missing all the code required, or am I missing something ?

I have tried different permutations of Force position, and position count.

      Any advice appreciated.

      Regards,

      Pipkin.

    • Hello,

      Just an update . . .

When I publish a module to, for example content-bottom-a, the module contents do not display yet the page "re-aligns" to allow for the modules. The module position simply appears blank - no module content.

Am using Joomla v2.5.11, and Gantry v4.1.10.

Any ideas on getting the module content to appear ?

Have tried the latest versions of: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, and Firefox - same front-end issue.

      Regards,

      Pipkin.

    • Hi,

Seems to be sorted - a custom css error on my part, prevented modules from displaying in certain positions.

      Pipkin.
