Why does display comp/mainbody enable have to work with "featured article"?

    • I think it is a great feature to let people choose to turn off mainbody/component in template setting, instead of manually hiding them by CSS. But what is the point that this feature has to work with menu item type "featured articles"?
If you say since you are gonna hide them, why do you care what menu item type it is, here is why:
I have a Sprocket Strip module in the page, fetching a category's items. I want the module to continue to display when one of the items are clicked, but if I set the menu item type to featured articles, the module won't display in the article page.
Of course there are some workarounds to get the module to display in article page, but I am just curious why this feature has to work with "featured article"(what is so special about this menu item type?), and more importantly, is there any official way to get this feature work with other menu item types that I missed out?

    • "Featured Articles" is a Joomla design decision not ours.
So why not create a sinfle article with your loaded RokSprocket module and set the Home menu item type to "Single Article" ?
