After reviewing documentation on the Gantry Overrride system, and what little I can find about the "Assignments" section of the Theme Settings, I still can't get a straight answer for the following:
1) Is the "Assignments" section used to apply a specific Override setting to a page, menu page, page template, post etc to the Override, or vice versa? The question might seem repetitive, but a specific answer could shed a lot of clarity on how to use this feature properly.
2) When "assigning", what is the difference between "Template Page Types," "Menu Page", "Page" etc? How does assigning to say, a page labeled "Home" differ from assigning to a menu section labeled "Home" and a template labeled "Home page", or like in the demo, it assigns both the "Home page" and "Front page"?
3) How do I create "Template Page Types" and what's the difference between that and a "Page" or a "menu page"?
Thank you for your help! You'll save a lot of time from using the "trial and error" method.
2. When assigning to specific section of the site you can use specific types for example for menu the menu label home and it will run only when you hit that menu item, if you use the page type to some page that will run only on that page and it doesn't need to be connected to menu system, for Page Types also when you are in page post types that will run on all pages that you have but not on posts if you understand now more clearly!
3. Template Page Types cant be created they are the core Types in WordPress, the difference between page and menu items i explained in 2., Gantry 4 is very powerful framework and you can do a lot of stuff in it and connect anything to anywhere show anythings anywhere!
