Gantry 5 on older templates

Just a quick question...
Is it possible to use gantry 5 on the older templates and have the same menu affect I see on the new template? I dont want to upgrade gantry to 5 unless i gain functionality for my older templates. Thank you

No it's not possible. G4 templates don't work with G5. See why ...

- Is it possible to install Gantry 5 alongside Gantry 4 on a site? I want to transition my site to Gantry 5, but I don't want to do a complete rebuild of the site if I can avoid it.
