A simple login pop up eludes me...

I have been trying for hours now to add what I thought would be a simple feature: A pop up log in form. I think there may be extenions for this but would rather try to do it within Gantry.
I have followed this tutorial to the letter: docs.gantry.org/gantry4/tutorials/creating-a-popup-login
The Login position does not show up in the Position pull down menu foir the Module, the Login feature does not show up at the top of the Features tab in the Gantry template manager.
I have also tried reviewing another tutorial that indicated using the pop up feature in Gantry 4. but there is no pop up features.
Terribly frustrated and would really appreciate some assistance.
