Exchanging particles between templates

  • Exchanging particles between templates

    • Sometimes we install more than one G5 template in a multi-language Joomla installations.
We are having one major problem here: Sharing the particles between templates in both layouts and G5 particle module
G5 (or is it Joomla's problem?) allows to use default template's particles only.
That is you have to copy different particles (and thus stylings) between installed templates to have them appear in layouts and G5 particle module instance.
      Therefore
      1. There could be an export/import mechanism so that particle-related scss files can be transferred.
      2. RT Team can name template-specific particles differently. For example there is an infolist particle in all G5 templates. It can have the name callisto-infolist, ambrosia-infolist etc and classes/yaml/twig can be based on this name. This at least helps transfer the particles easily until export/import would be possible.

    • Transferring of particles between templates is a bit cumbersome at the moment. In the future we will have the ability to import and export particles - but right now it's not available.
