Display Posts Override not working...

I have an override to display posts from a certain category ID
I have created an override. The override works and only displays those posts. Blog Category = 74.
Now...
I need to display those posts in two columns, so I adjust the 'posts display... ' options for that override
I select 2 leading and 8 intro with 2 columns.
Problem
It ignores the override and defaults back to one column to display the posts
I have created the 'assignments' and added the 'post term' and archives to no avail!
Please help
