    Gantry 5 and nBill SOLVED!

Posted 9 years 2 months ago
    • nBill users, RT team - I recently upgraded to Gantry5 and discovered that front end users can not login to nBill accounts (rendering the software useless for collecting payment) while the site uses Gantry5. I tried Salient and Antares - problem persisted with both identifying Gantry as the culprit. Stepping back to Gantry 4 fixes the problem.

    • How does nBill output on the frontend, as a component or a module? Please clarify what you mean when you say they cannot login... what steps are taken and what happens... are there errors present in the browser console? Have you contacted nBill to see what the conflict is?

      Component.

Please clarify what you mean when you say they cannot login...

Enter credentials, click login. Same login window appears stating one needs to login to use this resource. Infinite loop.

are there errors present in the browser console?

      No errors.

Have you contacted nBill to see what the conflict is?

No, as nBills programmig hasn't changed in some time and the break occured only after updating to Gantry5.

    • We don't guarantee compatibility with 3rd party extensions. If nBill hasn't updated their code in several years then they most certainly aren't (I misread your post, I thought you said several years) compliant with current Joomla component standards which took a major overhaul at the 3.0 and 3.4 releases. If there isn't any errors in console or advice from the developer as to what the conflict could be then there isn't a lot we can do to address the situation.

    • Thanks RT. I owe an appology - the conflict is with Joomla 3.8 - not necessarily Ganytry5. If any of you experience this issue, there is an updated version available: www1.nbill.co.uk/nbill_3_unrestricted.zip

    • ah, nice, no apology needed and thank you for posting the solution :)

If a thread is solved please edit your *original/first* post and place "[SOLVED]" (no quotes; but you do need the brackets) at the beginning of your post title. Changing the post icon to the Solved Checkmark is helpful too. :)
