SOLVED Gantry 4 and 5 migrating to joomla 3.5 and php 7

I wanted signalize that the phpmailer from joomla 3.5 does not work with php 5.6.19, (that I use in the version 3.4.8 ) and forcing me to setting up to the php version 5.5.33. The PHP 7.0.4 version is not running because the gantry 5 (and I imagine also the older version 4), this new php version not yet support.
Are there other things that I have to be careful (especially with regard to compatibility/stability of all rockettheme components) by moving my sites to the latest version of joomla 3.5? - Last Edit: 9 years 4 weeks ago by Riccardo.

Both Gantry 4 and Gantry 5 work with PHP7.

We're happy to say that the Gantry 5 framework is fully compatible with that version of PHP and so are our Gantry 5 templates.

If I imposed on the plesk the php 7.0.4 version, appear this error: he parameter "platforminfo.class" must be defined. And I cannot access to the admin surface...
On joomla forum is written that the latest version 3.5 is compatgibile with php 7. That's why I have concluded that the problem was the template. Sorry. - Last Edit: 9 years 4 weeks ago by Riccardo.

We're not aware of any issues with php 7 and that looks like a joomla class to me.
I suspect it's one of you other third-party extensions that has the issue. I would disable them all, switch to php 7 and then see if you can get in admin of your site and then enable one at a time until you find the culprit.

Your Kraken template is out of date on v1.1.0 please update to latest version. Also both rokbox and roksprocket have not been updated to the latest version compatible with PHP7, so please update both of those too and then clear server and browser cache and try PHP7 again.

I updated everything, set back to php7 and the "platforminfo.class" error are solved. Remains the errorthat, from what I read in the joomla forum, it's a joomla 3.5 bug.

Ok, good news then. Yes SMTP is mail we don't do anything specific with mail so it's either your mail set-up or Joomla 3.5.
