apc.so Error after installing latest Gantry

  • apc.so Error after installing latest Gantry

    • I see at least one other person on the forums has had this same problem and error but his Solved post does not provide any insight into how it was solved. Please advise me on this...

After installing the latest version of Gantry and any Gantry 5 template the site loads fine (once) but thereafter shows errors including the following one:

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20121212/apc.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20121212/apc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

Also when I go to the back end template panels and try to change something then save the Save Styles button just spins forever.

Any idea what I need to do to fix this? I have access to the server configuration but don't know what to do.

    • Disable the APC caching directive in your PHP configuration

      php.net/manual/en/apc.configuration.php

    • Matt,

      Thank you for your assistance.

I set the apc.enable directive to 0 to turn it off. The page now loads okay on the front end but the back end save button never seems to complete. If I change something and hit SAVE LAYOUT or in a popup hit APPLY AND SAVE the circle just spins forever. Reloading the page sometimes seems to have saved the particles that I dragged into place but it does not seem to save any actual changes to the particle itself (such as customizing the HTML text etc.).

    • What version of PHP are you running? Turn of any and all caching (3rd party or Joomla) and try disabling all non-RocketTheme 3rd party extensions and plugins and test.

Otherwise post admin details and be specific about what outline and what changes you're trying to Save

    • Matt,

I have created a screencast video that shows step by step what is going wrong with saving the items. It is attached in the private tab of this message. Be aware that this is running on a clean, new Joomla 3.5.1 site with JCE installed but no other 3rd party extensions. The only other thing I have installed is Gantry 5 and Interstellar.

Admin details also provided in the secure tab.

    • Sorry to bump but any ideas on this one?

    • I guess we can close this. In trying to figure it out I downloaded the rocket launcher version of the template, installed it, and it works fine. Strange that it would do that other thing though when I installed them separately on an new, empty site.

    • I'm glad it's resolved... what version of PHP are you/were you running?

If a thread is solved please edit your *original/first* post and place "[SOLVED]" (no quotes; but you do need the brackets) at the *very beginning* of your post title. Changing the post icon to the Solved Checkmark is helpful too. :)
