Showcase image constraints

Hi all,
I have a question. I am using Gantry on Grav and as part of that I use or am hoping to use Showcase, as it is a nice little feature for the site im putting together and grabs attention.
However, the immages are possibly being distorted too much and I am wondering if someone knows how showcase enlarges the images to make it fit.
My settings are full width flushed for the container so it reaches <---- Edge to Edge ----> . I made 1 image intentionally to ensure it would cover a 1920 width but the other 2 are automatically zoomed in on. I think the result of this is that the one I made intentionally is also zoomed a little and so stuff is being missed of either end. And the height of it might possibly also be a tad bit tall.
What dictates all of this does anyone know ?
