SOLVED Gantry and Advanced Module Manager

  • SOLVED Gantry and Advanced Module Manager

    • I installed Panacea 1.5.1 locally to play with it.

I setup a sa2-mb6-sb4 layout. It works great so far. But then I installed "Advanced Module Manager" (AMM) and discovered an issue: I configured "sb" modules to disappear and "sa" modules to appear (using the exclude/include feature of AMM), if a certain component is active.

Unfortunately the following happens. All sb modules disappear and sa modules show up (as planned). But the sa modules are displayed on the sb side ("right"). The width of sb didn't change (is still 4 not 2).

This is probably a bug, right?

    • Here is a small illustration:

      m = menu bar
      a = Module in sidebar a (left)
      b - Module in sidebar b (right)

Modules in sidebar a and b are configured to appear when component X is displayed.
      mmmmmmmmmmmm
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb
      aaXXXXXXbbbb

But if you disable modules b for component Y, then you get the following (incorrect) result

      mmmmmmmmmmmm
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa
      YYYYYYYYaaaa

      But it should be:
      mmmmmmmmmmmm
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY
      aaYYYYYYYYYY

To be honest, it would be a tough decision to choose between AMM or the Gantry framework. But AMM is so important that I would rather drop the Gantry framework.

But I hope it is easy to reproduce and fix.

      hi there,

i dont use the advanced module manager myself, but i believe this is not a bug or conflict but just a matter of gantry settings.

you mentioned you have set the layout for mainbody when using "3 positions" to sa/mb/sb.

then you used the amm to unpublish the sidebar-b modules.

now, you are no longer using 3 positions for the mainbody, but 2 positions. :)

please check your template parameters > layouts > mainbody and check the slider setting for "2 positions".

i bet it is currently set to mb/sa. you can change it to sa/mb with the wanted column distribution and the modules in sidebar-a should appear on the left as desired.

      kat :)

    • Your answer explains it perfectly (and this is of course how the push/pull schemas work).

      Excellent answer! Thanks.

    • No, of course not. :cheesy: Rhuk has told me once in the gantry-chat when we discussed AMM.
Therefore, I can tell you this.
