"Unable to parse URL" in jReviews links

I get this error when using a lot of jReviews funtions which create long URL strings:Warning: parse_url(/news/optometry/tag/webbasedod/Web-Based_m67/cat:62/jr_specialties:Optometry) [function.parse-url]: Unable to parse URL in /home/site/public_html/mysite.com/components/com_gantry/core/utilities/gantryurl.class.php on line 18
this is one of the URL that causes a problem, but a lot of others do as well (it also does it on all jReviews searches):
http://www.mysite.com/news/optometry/tag/webbasedod/Web-Based_m67/cat:62/jr_specialties:Optometry
When this happens, the CSS gets screwy and text is larger than it should be, but the page does load. I posted this as well in the Panacea forum, but I think this is Gantry-specific. I could really use some help here since this site is going live soon with a large advertising sweep.
I am using Gantry 3.0.7, latest jReviews, Joomla 1.5.20, and php 5.2.13 and I have Joomla SEF turned on but no other SEF extensions.

- I notice this did not make it into 3.08-3.10 so I have to fix it each time I upgrade. Is the patch from Alejandro not worth the addition into the code?
