SOLVED Gantry Upgrade Error

Hi Guys
Just upgraded my gantry from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 using the rt_gantry_j15-3.1.3-bundle.zip file in the Joomla installer and now when I try to apply any changes to my template I see this error in my apache logs
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function isAdmin() on a non-object in /VServers/MAS/www.mydomain.com/administrator/templates/system/gantry-ajax-admin.php on line 17, referer: http://www.mydomain.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_templates&task=edit&cid[]=rt_omnicron_j15&client=0
The template page just sits there with the apply button spinning.
My web site is a fresh RocketLauncher install of Omnicron.
I'm also seeing this error in the apache log file, while browsing the front end.
PHP Warning: xcache_isset(): xcache.var_size is either 0 or too small to enable var data caching in /VServers/MAS/www.mydomain.com/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/xcache.php on line 56, referer: http://www.mydomain.com/

- I just upgraded to 3.1.4 and now my Gantry is not working properly. Where can I find the error log Mark referenced in his message to help isolate my problem?

now its getting a bit confusing for me where to discuss my problem ...
my first problem u can find in this thread: www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=33...v=viewtopic&start=30
after updating a testing-installation to gantry 3.14 ("# Fix for phpQuery bug when mbstring enabled but mbregex is not"- that was exact my problem) i got new problem in the phpQuery.php:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_ereg_match() ....../com_gantry/admin/phpQuery.php on line 1834"
my hoster - strato AG - wrote me that they will try to work on it to enable the mbregex. but they cant promise it, because so many users would be affected cause my installations are on a shared hosted server ...
hope there will be a chance to fix that problem
