Gantry Broken - still, after ALL topics and troubleshooting

Awe, thanks for the heads up:) And yah, I sort of expected that... didn't have any problems as I installed all of the components and modules and plugins that I wanted to use - a few times I did encounter the "already installed" problem, but SQL and file structure stuff I can handle.
Javascript conflicts ( or whatever else caused Gantry to stop working ) drive me bonkers. Although I did however get a bit confused with the roknavmenu additions being missing - the mod_roknavmenu was a bit more complicated to reinstall as there are both site and administrator components, modules, plugins and language files being installed.
Other than that though, so far I havent seen any evidence of the template being "broken"
I havent checked out the rokcandy stuff, but I never use that anyway.

Okay - so Gantry stopped working again - and I seriously, honestly the only thing I did was change the size of the logo. Other than that, I have not done anything since rebuilding this site, when Gantry was working!
I know, it sounds crazy right? But honestly, Gantry was working, I was building this site, and it stopped working. So I rebuilt the site again and Gantry was working.
I logged in today to change the size and width of the logo, and noticed that once again, all of the javascript functions for Gantry are greyed out and unusable.
So, is that offer to PM someone the admin info to check it out still good?

Hello,
I seem to be having the identical problem. When I was first developing the site (Maelstrom template) I was able to edit the gantry parameters. I went in today to make some adjustments and I am not able to toggle things on/off. The problems Marco is having sound exactly like mine. I upgraded to 3.1.10 in hopes that it might fix things, but it did not. Unfortunately I need to make some adjustments in gantry before launching the site for the client this weekend. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Marco and Kat, did you ever figure out what was going on here?

Thanks kat! I was able to narrow down the problem for me. It was the OSToolbar plugin that was causing the Gantry template parameters to become unusable. I assume the problem is related to a similar issue where RSfeedback was conflicting with Rokbox and disabling the template parameters:

When I disable the OSToolbar plugin everything works fine. Unfortunately I'd like to have that enabled as it will be a big help to my client. I assume if I modified the plugin to use RokBox then it would not cause a problem....the problem is that I don't think I have the skills to do that If anyone wants to take a shot at it I can pm them with the details. Otherwise I'll get the template set and then enable the plugin. If I ever need to adjust template settings I'll just need to remember to disable OSToolbar first.

can you post the download link to that plugin, so i can give the info to the devs for them to maybe find a way to get around this incompatibility?

Sorry I missed the replies, I didnt think this thread was still active. It was the jomsocial update plugin that was causing the problem. I guess it was a jquery/mootools conflict or something, but anyway once I disabled that plugin gantry template worked fine.
Now, I've had jomsocial on other sites with rockettheme / gantry and have not had problems, so I have no idea what/why/how it happened only on this one site. magic I guess.

Hrm, double replies to my own comments - that's bad, right?
Anyway, those app-boxes in the mainbody position are Rockettheme html overrides, or mods of some sort. It is not a feature of jomsocial to publish latest members, latest videos, etc in the mainbody. They are only published on the side modules.
And again since jomsocial has updated their code and changed how things work, the rockettheme templates / overrides are not working like they are supposed to. Seriously though, how come jomsocial has to change so much everytime, it seems. Are there no such thing as standards, or do they just hate template providers?

Updates by 3rd party developers are a part of life but it does seem that recently there has been a never ending stream of changes in major components, including Joomla 1.6 :cheesy:
We try to keep things as up to date as we can but it's not easy.
