I'm having issues with the Gantry Framework. essentially I cannot toggle items in the template settings. I first installed Mercado and Gantry J1.5 bundled (latest versions: Mercado 1.6.2 + Gantry ).
All of the drop down options work, but NONE of the toggles (ON/OFF) work and I just get a mouseover cross symbol when I hover over (instead of a hand). e.g. I cannot disable/enable Logo, date etc..
also, if I try to save a preset I get the following error:
"It looks like the saving of the new Preset didn't succeed. Make sure your template folder and "custom/presets.ini" at your template folder root have write permissions...."
I've checked all my permissions and cannot see any issues. However, under custom dir there is no file called presets.ini. If I create one with permissions of 777 this makes no difference.
I've uninstalled the template and framework, installed just the framework, followed by the template and problem persists. Uninstalled both and installed Tachyon (template) and gantry separately - same problem. I'm running Joomla 1.5.23.
Hi Kat, I PM'd you details yesterday. Any ideas on underlying cause? I should point out this also suffers from the issue with the last dropdown within any accordian (when editing the template params) displaying behind the next accordian below (a z-index issue? )
thanks, Dave
you need to update your cache cleaner plugin, it's not the latest version, if you update then the incompatibility with gantry should be fixed and the toggles working again.
about the dropdowns you need to update gantry to 3.1.13, this bug was introduced in one of the latest joomla updates, but the latest gantry includes a fix.
Hi Kat, thanks. Those changes fixed the two problems . The only issue I now have is that I cannot save custom presets. Error is below. custom is set to 755. there was no presets.ini file, so I created one with 666 permissions. Problem persists. I have eXtplorer installed to view permissions. Any ideas? thanks. D
"It looks like the saving of the new Preset didn't succeed. Make sure your template folder and "custom/presets.ini" at your template folder root have write permissions.
Once you think you have fixed the permission, hit the button "Retry" below.
If it still fails, please ask for support on RocketTheme forums"
Hi Kat,
Sorry, I'd also added comment to another thread raised for the latter issue of permissions and updated that thread with solution, and forgot this one - lesson to learn!! Although I was setting the specific folder and file permissions correctly it had still not worked. Then I used Admin tool (Akeeba - great product) to reset site permissions and hey presto. So somewhere along the web structure permissions were not quite right. But Akeeba's Admin tools (
www.akeebabackup.com
) fixed it. thanks
