  • SOLVED Can't update from 2.5.2 to 3.1.14

    • Hi went through this forum and others, and still i can't get this resolved, so i decided to post.

      When i try to update Gantry i am getting the error message as shown in the attached screenshot. I would like to change my to a newer one (entropy). But the admin backend doesn't show any parameters. (no errors when error logging is turned on).

      I even changed all folders to 777 and file to 666 and I still get the same error message.

    • Hi, does the upgrade still work even though you are getting the error? Check the template settings to see your current version and let me know what that is.

      I only ask because the file that is giving you an error is the changelog.php - which isn't essential for running Gantry. You could try uploading that file via FTP if it's the only one not going through. You could also try un-installing Gantry then re-installing the new version.

    • I check some other files in the com_ganrty folder and the heading in them all says 2.5.2, so i think it isn't being installed.

      Also i'm not seeing "gantry" under Install/Uninstall--->Components. Although its installed.

    • That's odd, you should see it in that list of components. Maybe try deleting the com_gantry folder altogether, you might be able to install if it's gone. If it still won't install, unzip the gantry file and upload the contents into an empty com_gantry folder in your components folder. Manual installation might be the only way in this case. Let me know.

      I.e., followed all the instructions in Kat's tutorials, read through Andy's guide for upgrading?

      Just wondering because now you have a couple of moderators trying to sort the problem is a couple of different threads, so it makes it difficult for all of us, you and the moderators to come up with a solution.

      Can we keep the discussion in one place?

      (in the previous "topic" you mentioned to try another thread, so i posted here).

      i still going though to ensure everything is as it should, i don't really want to waste no one's time because i suppose have the template live already. Sorry for the difficulties.

      You may want to post in one of those threads mentioning which templates you have installed and which version of Gantry you are using.

      Someone might have a solution there.

      My advice was to post in one of the threads I linked, not start a new one.

      No big deal... :P

      I have asked some other moderators to take a look as one of them might have seen this before and have a possible solution.
