New templates not available in template manager

Hi,
I just installed a blank joomla 2.5.1.
When installing a new template like halcyon or clarion everything seems fine and the installer says "Installing file was successful".
But the new template is not available in the templatelist inside the template manager.
I see that folders have been created with content.
But the mysql-table CMS_TEMPLATE_STYLES have information about the new template.
What is wrong here?

hi claus,
so far i have not been able to replicate this issue on my local test installs, i always see the template just fine after the installation. can you send me your link and super admin details to take a closer look?

thank you for the details. i removed them from your post, it's much better if you sent info like that through PM only.
when i check your extension manager > manage > templates... i do not see any entry for halcyon and clarion, so it actually seems they have not been installed. weird.
when i go to your extensions manager > discover... and click the discover button on top right, then i get an error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class JInstallerTemplate in /share/MD0_DATA/Web/joomla/libraries/joomla/installer/adapters/template.php on line 559
that should not happen and i suggest that you search this error in the joomla.org forums to find out what might be causing it.
it seems you are running php 5.2.14, but 5.2.17 is the minimum requirement for gantry. please ask your host for a free upgrade.

I really don't understand that nobody else are having the same problem.
First of all, the Fatal error was cause by myself trying to debug the template.php. Now Im back in the original version.
The discover does not find any extensions.
I tried installing from scratch on other systems with PHP 5.2.17 and 5.3.8 as well.... Same problem.
What do you think Kat... Are you willing to take a look at the 5.2.17 if I send you the login?

thank you for the details. i installed tachyon and it shows fine in the extensions and templates manager. it's not ready for use, that would require gantry as well of course, but i can't replicate your issue with the installations running successfully but templates not showing up afterwards. i honestly have not come across any issue like this before, so i am unsure how to help right now. can you try another installation again, possibly using a different browser/pc and see what happens? after you post back i would refer your problem to the other moderators, if that's alright for you, maybe someone else has seen this before.

Okay...
Listen very carefully now.... I'm back in business, but I dont know why.
This is what I've done to solve the problem:
- I was using "Bluestork - Default" template for administrator.
- Was not able to manage or discover extensions
- Changed administrator template to "Hathor"
- Manage & Discover is now possible
- Went Manage and found that "Installer" by rockettheme was disabled.
- Enabled "installer"
- Now discover extensions
- Locate "rt_halcyon", mark it and install
- Viola
This exact process worked for all systems.
It seems like Changing administrator template to "Hathor" was the key for opening new doors.
I tried to skip that task on the other systems and again I was stopped.
