SOLVED Cannot Add Single Article To Menu

  • SOLVED Cannot Add Single Article To Menu

Posted 12 years 2 months ago
    • Hey guys

Opted for the super duper clean layout given by the default Gantry template but wow, just got 3/4 of the way through and have discovered 2 major P.I.T.A.s over at www,itsold.co.uk

      1. When using rsformpro you have to select the light header or your form is unusable. Problem here is that the form seems to inherit the css of the header irrespective of where you put the module (when you use the mod) or if you use the form direct.

      2. When trying to add a single article...you can't...when you set the menu type to single article then click 'select article' you get the list of articles but they cannot be added (tried in GC and IE) SEE SCREENSHOT.

A full day down the pan unless you can pull a rabbit from the hat guys...

      Joomla 2.5.9
Gantry 4.1.7 and default gantry template.

      Regards
      Daren

    • Guys

Dug a bit deeper with this can confirm a serious issue with 2.5.9 and Gantry.

The layout of the form was only present when using the Gantry template.

However, the issue of adding a single article to a menu item is present with ALL the R templates.

I tried it on Ionosphere, Cerulean, Lumiere and Levithian and at no time could I assign a single article to a new menu item.

This is worrying to say the least. Could you try and replicate this as RT towers and let me know if it is a local issue or generic.

Tried it on various machines with the same outcome.

Browsers were IE, GC and FF.

      OS is Windows 7 HP

      J! V 2.5.9
      Gantry 4.1.7

      Latest php and mysql installed.

    • Cheers Hemming

I am working on a different theory, my config file has been moved outside of the public html (as per rsfirewall rec) and am putting it back to default to eliminate that...

Blimming annoying, my last port of call could be an install issue many moons ago that has only just surfaced. yikes.

Just to clarify, you were adding a SINGLE ARTICLE to a new menu item...not writing a new article, that works fine. :cheesy: ?

    • OK

I can confirm that this issue is present in the newer templates.

I get the single article selector pop up windown with Ionosphere and before but when I use the newer templates (2013 and last 2 from 2012) I get moved to a page that presents the articles but does NOT allow me to select one.

I have the lastest version of everything installed (including RNM), cleared all caches both site and system but still it is present.

I know know it IS NOT a local issue....due to the above being based on fact.

Sorry guys, but your new templates have a bug somewhere that does not like my server...

      HELP PLEASE....

If required, I can send a PM to a mod with SA access.

      Ta
