Dear all
to modify some colors in gantry template, easiest way is to modify less files like header-dark.less, menu-dark.less or variables.less.
In case of upgrade of gantry do i need to redo these modifications any times ?

Yes, that is why we suggest to forget about making changes in template provided files and make css overrides in custom css instead
This is how you create a custom CSS file...

When we release upgrades template files will change and you will have to reapply all your changes again (that's if you can remember where they all are). If you keep your changes in a separate Custom CSS file you'll have no issues upgrading. - Check my services at: Mihha-Vision

I can also add less variables like
@menuBorder;
@menuDropBack:
coming from menu-dark.less
or
@topbackground:
@topbackground2:
coming from header-dark.less
