SOLVED Can't select any articles in menu manager?

Hi, not sure what's going on. I just tried to add a new menu item, went to article > select single article.. It loads the first part in a lightbox OK, but then when choosing an article from the list, nothing happens when clicking on them.. and this is not in a lightbox, when I think it should be.. ? I tried firefox, chrome and IE and none work..?
I get this error in firebug whenever I click on an article --
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object global] has no method 'jSelectArticle_jform_request_id'

- I saw this kind of behavior with some Joomla editor buttons plugin installed. Try to disable Joomla editor buttons plugins one by one until you find the one that is producing this kind of issue

- Hmm, thanks for speedy reply. I don't have any editor buttons installed? I haven't installed anything I don't think, apart from Virtuemart

set 'live site' variable in configuration.php, no change

- Try to set error reorting in Joomla global config to the Maximum level and also try to see if you have some JS errors in browser's console

I set error reporting to maximum -- no output on the page
I already pasted the only .js error from browser --
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object global] has no method 'jSelectChart_jform_request_id'
But this is because the article selection screen does not open in a lightbox... it opens in the main window instead.
Not sure what else to do now. Frustrated by too many problems with gantry.
Turned off SEF urls.. no change - www.cityinsurance.co.uk

I wouldn't say that this is a problem with Gantry
