SOLVED custom.css not working properly

Hi, I have used Gantry for over a year now. I love it. But on one of my sites, I can not use gantry-custom.css and I don't know why. It's worked on every other site I have. The only thing I could think of is that the site's currently running in a directory, which I have not had any problems with before. Where can I find the files that handle the gantry-custom.css on the css folder?
The override will work in css-compliled. but I need it in the css folder.
Joomla version is 3.1.5 and gantry is the most recent. I have uninstalled and reinstalled gantry, but still nothing.

Please post a URL to your site so we can look for you. Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.
You probably have insufficient CSS specifity on your statements. Put the file in the css folder (where it should be) and remove anything you put in the css-compiled folder, then clear server cache and I will check.

Sorry for the late response.
It is now working. There was a css cache issue that has been resoved. There was no problem with gantry at all, it behaved as it should.
