    SOLVED Invalid Token error

Posted 11 years 4 months ago
    • Hi,
It's been a couple of weeks since I logged into the admin. part of the site. Everything was working just fine, but now when I try to make edits to the Fresco template, the sliders in the template manager don't work. If I try to hit "Save", I receive the "Invalid Token" error message. I haven't made any changes so I'm not sure why it would just stop working. I did not update to Gantry 4.1.20 just yet until I know what is causing the issue.

I also have a test site running the same versions of everything and I do not have the same problem there. Any thoughts?

      Thanks!

      Joomla 3.2.0
      Gantry 4.1.19
      Fresco 1.4

    • log out of backend
log in to frontend using admin
      log out of frontend again.
      clear browser cache
log back in to backend - clear server cache.

      does it work now?

      Regards, Mark.

    • Thanks, but unfortunately those steps didn't work. I also notice that the roksprocket rotator on the top of the front page also does not work. Don't know if these two issues are related.

    • Please would you PM URL, superuser id and pswd and i'll have a look for you.

btw J3.2 is full of bugs so I can't recommend it's use for production sites - check joomla issue tracker for more details.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi Mark - I just sent a PM with the information you requested. Also, perhaps you can give me an idea on how to roll back to the previous version of joomla without hurting my site.

    • I spent sometime looking at this yesterday and was unable to find the cause - I suspect some sort of joomla bug - as J3.2.1 was released yesterday can you try upgrading to that and see if that makes any difference.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Thank you for looking, I appreciate it. I tried upgrading to 3.2.1, but no change (I did clear all caches).

As you suggested, I attempted to down grade to 3.1.6, but ran into some problems. First, I did this on my demo site so as not to impact my live site. But, I FTP'd the joomla files over and now I can't log into the admin area. An error message says that my user ID and password don't match. I never thought that would happen since I didn't change any of the databases. Do you know how to correct that issue? I certainly don't want to downgrade my live site if it's going to get messed up.

    • Okay, so I was able to log back in by using the instructions found here
      docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_recover_or_re...ur_admin_password%3F

I was able to successfully downgrade my live site to Joomla 3.1.6, BUT the problems outlined in my original post still persist (template configuration not possible and rok sprocket not rotating like it should). Again, i don't have the problem on my test site, so I'm wondering if some other extension is messing it up? I suppose it's possible, but everything worked a few weeks ago and all of a sudden no longer works.

What do you think the next step is here?

BTW - my temp admin access still works if you need to look at anything.

    • Ok I tried to access your site to check - but the temporary admin details no longer appear to work - can you check them please and PM me new ones if necessary.

    • My apologies, that must have gotten tripped up during the rollback to 3.1.6. I've "reset" it so it should work. I'll PM you again just to make sure you've got the right info.

      Thanks!
