  • SOLVED Fonts garbled only in view not source?!?

    • Pretty sure this is a CSS issue? Can see it at www.buttitta.it and it looks like it's the H2 tags?

      Firebug shows the source code to be:

      <div class=module-title">
      <h2 class="title">Background</h2>
      </div>

      But what displays on the page is a bunch of weird characters? Even trying to copy the text copy's the word "Background" But that's not what displays? And even odder, is it doesn't do this in IE or Firefox, only Opera, Safari and Chrome...

    • I tried you site in Opera, Opera Next, Chrome and Chrome Canary and they all worked just fine. What version of the browser are you using? Make sure to disable any plugins you might have installed in your browsers that might be changing things.

    • OK, now I'm baffled because I only use those 3 browsers to preview sites... none have any type of extensions enabled or even added. And disabling the few extensions in Chrome didn't make any difference. I'm running Windows 8.1 and use the most current version of the 5 main browsers to preview sites...

    • Ok I also tried all the browsers on my windows 8.1 laptop and again everything worked just fine. Are you accessing via a proxy or some other service that might be changing things? Can you try accessing your site from another computer on another network/internet connection.

      I honestly can't see anything wrong at all.

    • Hi Mark,

      Yeah, after exhausting everything I can think of, I'm pretty sure this issue is specific to my workstation computer and the fonts installed on it have somehow wrecked those browsers fonts. Oddly enough that, it's not happening on ANY other web site. It's just a weird anomaly! Thank you for confirming though!
