SOLVED Gantry 5 - Layout Save Forbidden

  • SOLVED Gantry 5 - Layout Save Forbidden

    • Hello!
I've just started a new site trying to experience the new Gantry 5 with the Callisto theme, and so far so good learning the particles via tutorials and stuff. However I encountered an issue as soon as I tried to save some tests on the Layout Manager through Gantry Admin.
Every time I try to save anything, I get a Forbidden message, such as the one in the annexed image.

This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

This happens everytime I try to save the layout or even save any particle / module.
      Any help, please?

EDIT: I've also seen this appears to be a common issue searching the forums for a solution. So yes, my permissions are all correct showing green in directory permissions.

    • That file isn't going to be explictly listed on the Joomla directory permissions checker/output page... have you verified the file permissions in the error directly via an FTP client or SSH? What's it set to?

What about the owner/group settings for the file? Are they set correctly for your webspace?

    • SEARCH the forum first! These boards are rich in knowledge and vast in topics. This includes searching just the 'Solved' forums, using Google, and using ChatGPT :woohoo:

    • Yeah. I checked everything. The file is 644.
Checked a lot. I'm trying to solve this issue all around and chatting in Gantry 5 github. However still no solution.

    • Thanks to the Github support I was able to find the solution and I will leave it here to anyone else who has this exact same problem! You guys probably have a block in the administrator/index.php in your Apache mod_security. If you run a VPS you may manually whitelist this file in mod_security, and if you have a shared host you gotta contact your hosting support and ask them to whitelist for you! It instantly worked!!!
      Hope this helps!
