SOLVED How to Display Sidebar Modules Above Main Content on Mobile in Gantry 5

Posted 9 years 10 months ago
    • Hi,

I am using Gantry 5. When accessed via mobile, how do I make a sidebar module appear above the main content? I'm using the sidebar module as a menu and it makes more sense for it to appear above the main content so the user doesn't have to scroll all the way down the page to access it.

      Thank you.

Not sure what you mean by "main content"? Do you mean content presented by the Page Content particle which shows content from Joomlas Main Body?

Why not place your sidebar module in a section above your "main content"? For example on a mobile the Showcase module position will always appear above the Page Content particle that is typically placed in one of the "main" Sections.

    • Thank you for the reply.

By "main content" I mean "main bar." I would like to display a sidebar module above the mainbar in mobile view. The reason I don't place the module in the showcase position is because I want it to display in the sidebar position when the site is accessed by desktop. I only want the sidebar module to appear above the mainbar when accessed via mobile.

The module is a menu. How do I display the module in the sidebar position for desktop viewing, but above the mainbar (e.g, in the showcase position) on mobile devices?

      Thank you.

What template are you using Hydrogen, Callisto or Ethereal? Also what Outline?

I'm testing in both Callisto and Ethereal, and am using a custom outline.

I'm gonna guess the solution is to have the menu module in both sidebar and showcase.
Then, use the module classes, visible-phone and hidden-phone

Thank you! That's just what I was looking for.
