SOLVED Inexplicable page leftside shift you have not seen before

Posted 9 years 10 months ago
    • Hello,
I am almost certain you have not seen this issue before.
      LET ME BEGIN WITH THIS:
My client's website is built with a Joomla/Gantry framework combo, but the template is not from Rockettheme.
However, so far, we have been able to confirm that the problem Idescribe below, is NOT caused by the template, NOT caused by a conflicting extension or any other possible conflict that we have been able to identify.

      Here it is:
If you visit this page: family.webmaster-sos.com/spanish-resources
you will notice that the page is published to the left of the browser window.
NO OTHER PAGE IN THIS WEBSITE PRESENTS THIS ISSUE.

While testing if I was going to be able to publish ANY other article in the Resource Library of the site, I found I was able to do so, wihtout a problem.
That led me to test the menu itself, by changing the title to: Demo Menu Demo: family.webmaster-sos.com/demo-menu-demo , BUT, still liked to the corresponding articles for the Spanish Resources Category. It worked.

That left me with the word "Spanish" as the trigger.
To confirm, I created a number of menu items for testing purposes, some with the word Spanish in Spanish (EspaƱol), some even with the variant "Hispanos": family.webmaster-sos.com/recursos-hispanos ,

this one with the word, "Spanish" in English, at the end:
      family.webmaster-sos.com/demo-menu-spanish

NONE worked, except the ones where we did not use the word "Spanish" in any way or form.

Since this is an issue that no one has been able to solve, not the template designer, nor the JDownloads extension developer (the extension used to create the Resource Library), or myself, the website developer, this forum is about the best place where I can have hope to gain some insight into this super unique circumstance that I cannot find a way to explain to my clients in a way they can accept or understand. I am hoping that the super expert coders and developers in this forum might take some pity on us, and help us figure out the reason of this unique circumstance.

Thank you in advance for any fedback you can provide,

      Kind Regards to all.

    • I have see it before loads of times - it's because your menu item has the word "span" in the alias "menu-spanish-resources" and there is some bootstrap code the looks for the word "span" in classes and acts upon it - chang ethe alias to remove the word "span" and it will then work ok.
