SOLVED What to use instead of Roksprocket for latest news?

Hi,
I would like to ask you. I use some RT templates and Roksprocket for latest news. I choose a category in Roksprocket where the latest articles show.
Now I do not see this in any new template that is on G5. What to use instead of Roksprocket when I need to automaticly add the articles?
I did not see any particle, that would let it.

Why not just carry on using a roksprocket? But also there is now a new particle in G5.2.15 called "joomla articles" that will do much the same.

Hi Mark. Thank you for your answer. I do not want to continue with Ropskrocket using because I thought it is not correct (good) when you do not use it in G5. And especially because I keep getting alerts from Google etc. that I should fix javascript and I do not want to do it because I cannot do it. When I turn ON Rokbooster, web are slower. I have minimum JS but page is slow.

Well we still do use roksprocket in G5 templates too (see Ethereal), there's nothing wrong with continuing to use Roksprocket because it is an extremely powerful module and there is no complete roksprocket equivalent in particles. I don't know what the error message you are referring to from google but most of the time those things are academic issues anyway. Nor do I understand your point about rokbooster?
If you are asking if roksprocket has a lot of JS then yes it does, individual particles might have less but then they do a lot less than roksprocket.
Also, you didn't say what template you are using either, different templates have different particles in them. So in addition to the "joomla article" particle I mentioned we also have "newslider" "flexslider" "owlcarousel" etc etc but they won't read joomla article content (only "joomla articles" particle currently does that).

I noticed there is no Roksprocket in the latest G5 template. That is way I thought you will not use it.
Google - Google webmaster still says I have too much JS files and my web is slow because of that. And I cannot solve it because there is just too much JS files. When I use Rokbooster as I wrote, web is slow. So I thought it is better not to use Roksprocket. Anytime I put on Rokbooster it always slows down the webs. I tried it on more templates. It is a bit faster when I switch OFF CSS.
I use several templates, for Example Myriad, Metropolis and Requiem and I need the articles from chosen category (categories) be on the site. For example as it is here on the right side on the bottom. I have Roksprocket there but it is G4. That is way I ask what to use for the same things in G5 to not use Roksprocket.

Well, it's still the same answer... If you want things to look like a roksprocket in a G4 template does then use a roksprocket in a G5 template. Just because we haven't include roksprocket in the template does not prevent you from downloading it and installing it.
You are using a roksprocket lists in you G4 site so you can use that in a G5 site. The Photon G5 template includes a particle called "accordion" which does something similar but you put the content directly in the particle, you cannot source data from Joomla with it.
Rokbooster is a compressor, it should make your site faster. Rokbooster has to be tuned to your particular environment and extensions - this is not something we can do for you as part of this support forum. I encourage you to read the rokbooster documentation to learn how to add exclusions and change the many other settings in rokbooster. Once tuned rokbooster will speed up your site so it's worth the effort.
I've never heard of a google message that says "you have too much javascript on your site" - that sounds very odd indeed.

Maybe I did not write it correctly. I will try to find exactly what it wrote.
I just tried to open in template Requiem particle ARTICLE - and there is no particle ARTICLE. So I cannot use it. It is not good I cannot choose template that I want, I must choose template I do not like that has particle I need. I think this is big disadvantage G5. It would be good if every templates has particle and I could choose. Copying particle from template to template is not easy, I already tried it. 1. You don't have to use Photon. You can copy the particle out of Photon into whatever template you wish. If you want to know how to copy a Gantry 5 particle from one template to another please read my tutorial here in Gantry 5 Official Documentation

2. There is no particle that does exactly the same as roksprocket. Roksprocket is a very powerful and feature rich extensions, as such it does use quite a lot of JS. Particles are often simpler but they do a lot less.
3. You need Gantry 5.2.15 installed for the "Joomla article" particle to show up. It's brand new. But it will not give you an accordion.

1. I wanted to avoid copying the particle. As you know I had problems with it. And I did it according the manual. You know it was also neccessary to copy also another files that were not in the manual. The copying could be made more friendly for non-coder users. I am going to have look at the tutorial again.
2. OK.
3. I have Gantry 5.2.15. But I oversaw it. I was looking for particle ARTICLE. I had a look at it and it is not for me. I cannot use it.
So I see the only solution is Roksprocket.

1. Ok - well that's why I wrote the tutorial. Not every particle is included in every template. We do intend to make it easier to import/export particles in the future but right now that's the only way to do it.
3. Ok, I did say it might not be what you wanted. It is a brand new particle that can access Joomla content data (articles and categories) but it's also the only particle that can do this at the moment.
Yes, as I said, Roksprocket works perfectly well in Gantry 5 too.
