    [Closed] Content plugins on Particles

Posted 9 years 5 days ago
    • Wondering if it's possible to run Joomla content plugins on particles.

An example, I am setting up a particle that will display a mailto link. I would like to be able to "cloak" it using Joomla mail cloaking plugin.

      Any ideas?

    • Have you tried it? I know it used to be a problem but the tickets were fixed?

    • Hi, I too am wondering how to achieve this... I am using Interstellar template webcoasthost.directrouter.com/~nicklin/index.php , and using particle "Simple Content" in position "g-above" but the email address is not being masked.

I found this forum topic, and followed the links to the gantry forum, it says "Both are fixed by enabling Joomla onDisplayContent event from the particle output." MrT do you know what this means, and how do I enable this?

      Thanks, Nicola

    • What it means is that in customHTML module there is a setting on the "options" tab that you can set "prepare content" to yes so that the content will be cloaked by the Joomla email cloaking plugin. But, this option does not apply to a "Gantry 5 particle" module - so the email address will not be cloaked. So at the moment email addresses cannot be cloaked in particles unless you override the particle to alter the code to have joomla parse the content. I have raised another github about this https://github.com/gantry/gantry5/issues/1366 after a lengthy discussion with our lead developer (the previous fix was only applied to the customhtml particle).

    • I have the own carousel setup on Protean to pull articles. Each article has a youtube video plugged in using the AllVideos plugin... it doesn't work when it's displayed in the slideshow particle (I just see the shortcode, not the video). The All Videos plugin IS working.

      Thanks

    • lydianp18 - Please don't post in 7 month old dormant topics or we might miss your post altogether - shortcodes are not parsed in the owlcarousel particle.
