SOLVED Particle Layout Broken

    • I copied a contact particle from Salient to Interstellar.
I found a twig, yaml, and scss file in Salient and moved them into the corresponding folders in Insterstallar. I did not see a js file in Salient. I also included the two "@import" lines in the _contact.scss file.

The particle is available and looks correct in the admin panel. On the public side, the layout is different. See the screen grabs. 1 is from Salient, 2 is from Interstellar.

I blurred out the content of the particles. In jpg2, notice how the icon, item title, and content are stacked vertically. In the original particle (jpg1), the content layout is much more appealing - almost like a table.

Super Admin credentials are in the secure tab.

    • Hi there,

Copying particles is quite simple but you need to follow some simple rules. If you bring anything from another template then you should add it to your custom directory as any template updates could destroy your changes.

There is a great guide here - docs.gantry.org/gantry5/tutorials/copying-particles

Even when you have done this there may be css changes that also need to be addressed.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Thanks David.

That guide was what I used to move the particle. Unfortunately, I'm not good at css. I was hoping that adding a particle from another template would be like adding RokWeather or something similar. Aside from the font, it would work the same in any RT tepmplate.

I need something quick so I'll look in the JED. If I find time to learn css, maybe I can revisit this.
