SOLVED Showing sections on specific pages

Posted 8 years 11 months ago
    • Hi All,

First all, I'm new to Rockettheme and Gantry. I like it very much, but I do have a question/problem.

Is it possible to show a section or a particle (e.g. the showcase) on a specific page instead of all pages? I can't find anything about it in the documentation.

      Hope someone can help me.

      Greetz,
      Tim

    • Hi Tim,

Couple of points - please do read the documentation it will help in the long term if you understand the basics.

Having said that I was a latecomer to Gantry 5 because I found it overwhelming at first. Now I love it.

Gantry 5 will do the same as Joomla and Gantry 4 plus a lot more BUT it doesn't have to be complicated.

In the template you have outlines and these are in effect overrides to the default. If the default has a position called showcase then you can assign modules to it as you would with any other template. Due to the flexibility of Gantry 5 you can also embed particles straight into an outline. So if you have the templet home positions outline open and in layouts you have a row for showcase then you drag new particles to the row and decide how wide they will be etc.

By the same token you can remove items by dragging them from the row to a 'Delete' area at the top of the screen.

You can create as many overrides as you need. My advice is read the documentation. Plan your site from the base outline and then use that for all your default settings. After that you can create outlines and edit them to suit your needs.

      Hope this helps 8)
