    [closed] Multilingual date particle

    • About the multilingual management from the date particle, there are newer solutions? I read various (very old!) threads and it seems that this automatic activity has not yet been inserted.
I develop multilingual websites and this automatic translation activity would be much appreciated.

    • I'm not sure what your question is... is it specific to translating a "date particle"? What Template?

    • I am referring to the Kraken template (his "date particle"); however, I see that it does not work in all of the different templates I'm using with the framework gantry 5 (why I wrote in this category).

    • Thank you for clarifying.

Yes, currently we're releasing particles only with templates and therefore the particles are certainly tailored to/only tested with the template they're released with... however, most particles will "port" quite easily between Templates are are typically pretty functional... the style (SCSS) will typically have to be rewritten

      docs.gantry.org/gantry5/tutorials/copying-particles

Customizing particles at the TWIG/YAML level is beyond the scope of support... I suspect there are date functions in TWIG though that can adjust the locale of the date format...

      twig.sensiolabs.org/doc/filters/date.html
      twig.sensiolabs.org/doc/filters/date_modify.html

I will mark this as closed since it's really beyond the scope of support, but just post back if you feel there's something wrong with the particle that we can help with

    • I'm, relating your last two answers, a bit confused. I'm a Joomla Developer Club subscriber (just paid until 2017!) since several years, and I have now the impression that Rockettheme follow a new response policy; ...or MrT has spoiled me;)))

It's true that I speak English little and I write with a bit of difficulty, but I can still to distinguish a political response from a technical answer.

I have asked this question, since the previous submission (gantry 4) supported the different languages. It was enough to reply me that unfortunately the gantry 5 templates are not yet capable to do this.

    • Anything's possible with enough time and code... and there's a limit to what even MrT would be able to support on these boards as well...

Perhaps I still do not understand your issue... I'm unaware of any multilingual capabilities of any of Particles... if you want to change the locale of the date format then I would think it would need to be adjusted in the TWIG file, which is why I pasted those links.

In terms of the Date particle simply "not working" in another template besides Kraken, well, I'd need more details/links, etc as to what exactly is not working... that may be easy to solve.

In terms of converting the date to a different locale format, that would certainly be well over my head
